Quantifying carbon Stock and tree species diversity of green infrastructure of Varanasi, India

چکیده
The world is undergoing rapid urbanization and experiencing its negative impacts, often due to the loss of urban green infrastructure. This study focuses on infrastructure Varanasi city, India, analyses current tree species diversity, carbon storage in aboveground belowground biomass soil. calculated because it serves as a stock reservoir. As random sampling, data were collected from 24 sample plots across various sites via rigorous fieldwork. was then recorded using non-destructive approach standard equation by King et al.2006. diversity sites, found be higher BHU site, lower MA site. Pielou’s evenness index Margellef’s richness while they UPAC respectively. Aboveground total high BLW with values 1939.84 ton/ha 7806 ton/ha, respectively, trees having larger girth circumference being primary contributors. findings this prove better understanding biomass, different city generate evidence how space preservation development may help countries' economic transformation sustainable, resilient, low-carbon cities.
